Original 18th century botanical engraving of a common hollyhock by Nicolas Francois Regnault and his wife Genevieve de Nangis Regnault. Large folio size hand-coloured copper engraving. Name of the plant engraved in French, Latin, German and English under the picture. The engraving comes with another leaf that contains a description of the plant and the ways of using it in French.
Very good condition. Colours are bright and margins wide. Plate dimensions 37 x 25,5 cm, sheet dimensions 45,5 x 30,5 cm.
