This second edition of a major work in eigtheenth-century medicine by Johann Zacharias Platner, a professor of physiology at the univeristy of Leipzig from 1724, covers a wide array of surgical topics such as inflammation, amputation, fractures and bone diseases.
Contains 6 folded plates that illustrate medical equipment of the times. Features also a beautiful ex-libris by the famous Finnish physician and professor Tauno Kalima (1881-1951).
