Vanda Coerulea, also known as blue orchid or Autumn lady’s tresses, is found in northern India. It is a rare and unusual orchid with large, impressive flowers.
John Nugent Fitch was a British botanical illustrator and lithographer. With the total of 528 plates, he was the master illustrator of the 11-volume magnum opus Orchid Album, Comprising Colored Figures and Descriptions of New, Rare and Beautiful Orchidaceous Plants. All the plates were based on his own original watercolours which are nowadays part of the permanent collection at the Natural History Museum in London.
