16th century map of the northern part of the British Isles by Abraham Ortelius.
This is the upper sheet of the two-sheet-map showing Scotland and the surrounding islands.
The map has Roman town names and the verso text is in Latin. Large decorative cartouche and a picture of a naval battle.
Hand-coloured copper-plate engraving. This map is slightly toned.
